Kanye West leads tributes to Virgil Abloh with moving Sunday Service cover of Adele’s ‘Easy on Me’
Kanye West on Thursday night unveiled his first cover to the Church of Rome magazine since 2000, making the cover of an issue dedicated to the Italian designer Virgil Abloh.
West last appeared on the magazine’s cover in 2000 as a guest editor, putting together the front cover story about the English premier league with Abloh.
The designer recently teamed up with Nike to create a collaboration, and unveiled the first look at a range of West-inspired sneakers from the Sports Classics line during New York Fashion Week.

He later tweeted a video from the shoot, with the caption: “love to Virgil.”
The Godfather-influenced cover shows a kneeling Abloh surrounded by faces with Christian imagery, including the head of St John the Baptist with a cross around his neck.
The rapper, who made a controversial tour announcement over the weekend by revealing plans to run for US president, later quipped: “My Hip Hop icon from 2000 is returned, and he’s sittin’ on the cover of this bible fashion magazine called Sunday Service … Yeezy.”
